Shred them??? I would gladly pay the shipping for instructions for sets that
I don't already own (which is still quite a few despite recent Lego binges).
Send me an e-mail of which instructions you have many of and maybe we can
make a deal.

Actually, what might be better is if you post a list of the instructions you're
most looking for (in lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade of course). Many of us may
have instructions we're willing to part with (so far, I have only thrown out
instructions for sets which I have sold many of the parts from, and actually, >I
don't think I've even thrown all of those out). Catalogs I have been keeping
about 10 of each which I figure should generally be plenty for possible future
catalog trades or whatever.

Yeah, that's a much smarter suggestion.  Especially given the fact that the
person looking for the instructions would essentially want to get them for
free (and why not - they're not worth anything to me, other than as packing
material - which come to think of it does make them worth something, just
not a great deal) I'd say he should be the one putting the legwork into
compiling a list and posting it or sending it via e-mail.

It would be kinda silly to spend my time compiling a list of instructions
and sending them off on the mere chance that someone might be able to use them
and be willing to pay me nothing for them.  :)

Catalog trades?  Not my thing.  I don't understand the lure of looking at
pictures of sets or parts I can't buy anymore.
