    Re: It's here! —Jon Kozan
(...) Ok, what are we going to call the color? Green... Muted Green? Green-Gray? Washed-Green? Verdis-Green? Only people with the parts in hand should actually get to vote. -Jon (24 years ago, 30-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: It's here! —Jennifer L. Boger
My vote's for Verdigris, even though this color's used in non-copper sets :) It's kind of mossy looking, not swampy, but mossy.. I love it :) (...) (24 years ago, 30-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

         Re: It's here! —Jon Kozan
I, for one, can't go along with that at all. We should attempt to be consistant with whatever TLG ends up on calling it for the general public. Not that we may know that yet, but we certainly can influence it. Case in point - Note the Beige group (...) (24 years ago, 30-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

          Re: It's here! —Steve Bliss
(...) I agree with that completely. (...) Really? I think that'd be most cool, as it's the closest thing to the proper word for the color of rusted copper.           Re: It's here! —Jennifer L. Boger
(...) I won't be calling it "new green" unless i need to explain it to someone who doesn't have a dictionary handy to look up verdigris :) I'm not saying verdigris is the best name, just that it's the best temporary choice.           Re: It's here! —Jeff Shiner
(...) Actually that is not correct. Although "rust" most commonly refers to the hydrated ferric oxide coating found on iron, it more correctly refers to the coating produced by corrosion on any metal. The verb form of "rust" refers in general to the (...) (24 years ago, 1-Dec-00, to lugnet.general)

         Re: It's here! —Dave Schuler
(...) Isn't that sort of redundant redundant, like saying Turquoise Blue or Lemon Yellow? 8^) Dave! (24 years ago, 30-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: It's here! —Charles Eric McCarthy
(...) Yes, it is redundant. But the redundancy is useful because fewer people know what "verdigris" means than "turquoise" or "lemon". /Eric McC/ (24 years ago, 30-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

         Re: It's here! —Steve Bliss
(...) Not exactly. It seems that some by definitions, verdigris is a patina -- it's the substance that forms on the surface of oxidized copper, not the color itself. See the entries at (URL). Close to the end, there's a link to "verdigris green", (...) (24 years ago, 3-Dec-00, to lugnet.general)

         Re: It's here! —Gary Istok
(...) The word "green" should be in the name, I guess Antique Green would be good. (I think I might have been the one that started the thread on "Verdigris".) If people want Verdigris, then I want dark pink to be "Magenta". And that opens up (...) (24 years ago, 30-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) I agree with that. But.... I wonder what TLG is calling it? (aside from 'new' green) If we decide on a name & then they call it something else...           Re: It's here! —Suzanne D. Rich
I can't remember what TLC calls gray-green but I remember I didn't like it. It was sorta Martha Stewart-ish. not descriptive.          Re: Sand Green (was: Re: It's here!) —Frank Filz
(...) No, I don't think tan is a member of the "sand" family of colors. It doesn't have a greyness to it. Sand yellow would be similar to tan, but I don't think it would be the same. Frank (24 years ago, 4-Dec-00, to lugnet.general)
