  LEGO, August 15th Battle Write-up

For those of you who are interested, I've finished the write-up of LEGO's BrikWar event on Wednesday the 15th of August. (URL) the way, Gino, we need to get our group added to the world list, now that we have a name for our group.) ~Drew (24 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.oh, lugnet.gaming, lugnet.general)

Re: A question about BrikWars robots

(...) No problem, but I have to object. Giving everybody new and better ways to avoid being productive isn't necessarily a service to the community. (...) I'm also going to try and put in some fancy Javascript calculators so you can just type in (...) (24 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: A question about BrikWars robots

(...) So, 24" for TL6 mechs. That sounds reasonable. (...) That sounds good. (...) Most of my mechs have legs which should be able to jump well. Especially the spider and scorpian designs. I'll think about this and let you know what I come up with. (...) (24 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: We're gonna BrikWar

(...) It turns out that Drew (one of our regulars) has a digital camera. But, having another one willing to come would always be welcome. We're thinking about convening again in two weeks. Anyone else interested in joining us. As a side comment, The (...) (24 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.oh.col, lugnet.gaming)

  Re: We're gonna BrikWar

Please keep posting when you will be playing. I was hoping to drop by, but just got back into town! I live close to The Soldiery (near the comic book shop, right?) AND I have a digital camera! I probably don't have time to play, but I am interested (...) (24 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.oh.col, lugnet.gaming)

Re: A question about BrikWars robots

(...) There are supposed to be maximum speeds for each propulsion type, but it looks like I forgot to put them in. For ground propulsion, the max speed is TL x 4". I'll fix that when I do the next site update this weekend. Robots can exceed their (...) (24 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: A question about BrikWars robots

(...) The mech I'm fielding tonight has a 32" movement (using torso power) and a 20" jump (using combined legs). The jump seems high, but 5" (using torso power), seems way too low. Using leg power for movement would be ridiculous. Would be 128". The (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: A question about BrikWars robots

Whenever I use the RV supp to make a robot, it seems to go about 30+" / turn. I have to tone this down by about 1/2 to make it reasonable (ground stuff should not go as fast as flyers). For jumping, your idea seems reasonable. Jason (...) jumping (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  A question about BrikWars robots

I've got a question about walking robots. When calculating speed and jumping power, do you use the power rating of the robot (torso) or the combined rating of the legs. Thus far, I've been using the torso rating for normal movement and the combined (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  We're gonna BrikWar

We've got a table at The Soldiery from 4-9pm tomorrow (8/15). Anyone who wants to join is welcome. We want to start gaming by 4:30-5:00. We'll be playing TL5-6 with a limit of ~300CP. Spectators are also welcome. Anyone with a digital camera is (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.oh.col, lugnet.gaming)

Re: Sneak preview of my GEV

(...) Having just scoured the net, I can't find any pictures of a GEV. I will have to recheck my game box, but I thought I recalled a turret on the GEV. I have a hard time imagining the GEV being effective without a turret, and the targeting (...) (24 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.gaming)

Re: Sneak preview of my GEV

(...) Very nice! I wasn't aware there was an actual turret on the SJ games version, but it looks great! I'm looking forward to seeing more of the engine detail--having been an avid fan of Winchell Chung's renderings, these are all the more cool to (...)   Re: Sneak preview of my GEV

Re: Sneak preview of my GEV

(...) Oh, that is *SO* unfair! Only 2 pictures? More pics! More pics! :-, It looks pretty cool, and I like how you've handled the camo color scheme. Can't wait to see more. Of course, the minifig-scale Ogre Mark VI would be cool, too... ;-) Cheers, (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.gaming)

  Sneak preview of my GEV

Hello, I put up two pics of my interpretation of a GEV from the Steve Jackson games Ogre/GEV, at (URL) . I'm working on my troopship GEV, getting the doors/hatchways right for the troops is a little tricky. Thanks, George (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.gaming)
