I’ve read of things like that, particularly this. Other than that, not much.
Next time I’m in a city bus, I’ll try to remember to look at the ceiling to see if it’s blay. (I seldom ride city buses)

But why did it happen? It could be because of the light! The new grey was not
meant to look better in shops but IMHO to last longer unchanged in the
sunlight. I have not ever seen or heard of a yellowed bley brick. I have
tried to leave one piece in direct sunlight for a couple of days and nothing
happened (maybe it was not long enough).

I’ve read of just such a thing on Bricklink:

If what I’ve seen in Toys’R’Us display cases is any example, it certainly will. As I once said
about the 4504 Millennium Falcon, the dark bley started out uniform and 3 months later was
showing half a dozen distinct shades.

Some AFOLs at kostky.org use 30% hydrogen peroxide to restore yellowed
bricks. They noticed that yellowed grey pieces turn into bley if soaked too
long! Maybe it’s the way to get parts which were never produced in bley :-)

Or this, which I hope to try soon.
