  LXF files - info and XML schema
 
Hi all, With respect to (URL) this discussion> Tue Jakobsen from the LDD team sent me an email with the following text "I can confirm that the .lxf file is a zip file. (...) Bruce Chamberlain postulated that the problem is due to one of the 3-axle trucks being *pushed* through the curve rather than pulled. (...) Thanks for the tip. I'll take a look. I'll have to do some testing with zziplib to see if it will work with the ldraw.org zip files. (...) It's also not hinged to another truck; it only has to rotate around its center point. Being attached to the motor truck, the 3-axle trucks in the GG1 are being pulled a little bit off center as the wheels go into the curve, and I think that's (...) I've fallen into an infinite loop. When I launch LDD, LDD informs me that there is a new version, so I agree to download it. LDD goes through its installation procedure, but each time I go back to LDD, it informs me that there is a new version (...) (17 years ago, 9-May-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

For my next LDD MOC, I built a PRR T1 #6110 (4-4-4-4 duplex-drive steam locomotive). I've uploaded it to the Lego® Factory, so once it is approved you can take a closer look. (...) Well, it was worth a try. I tried both LDD1.6 and LDD2.0 . Both required a new Linux /lib32 library, libdrm.so.1 . I got that and installed it. I decided to model the very well known GG1 locomotive as a model available from LEGO Factory. I took some liberties with the design and color scheme in order to accomodate what can be done in LDD. I've managed to get MLCad and TrackDesigner running under 32 bit Wine (Windows emulator), since 64 bit Linux is happy to run 32 bit programs. (...) Hello all, I think there may have been some prior discussion on this issue, but I can't recall the answer. I would like to export files from LDD 2.0 to LDRAW using the File -> Export option. LDD no interaction with mouse When there is no internet connection, the question "would you work offline?" cannot answered by mouse. Buttons can not be pressed. I start LDD 2.0 & it opens to a selection of pre-built models, free play, etc. Selecting any of these slows the computer to almost a dead halt. Anyone have any pointers for successfully downloading the instructions for the new Hobby Train set (10183) (Windows XP) ? I've already downloaded LDD 2.0.   Conversion file for ldraw to ldd
 
Hi all, I've converted the old conversion file from LDD 1.6 (with Jason Railton's adaptions) to LDD 2.0 format. It is far from perfect but is also far better than what is currently available. To install it just quit LDD 2, go to (...) (17 years ago, 22-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

(...) Unfortunately, LDD 2.0 no longer runs on earlier versions of Windows. LDD 1.6 ran quite happily under Windows 2000, but the new version crashes as soon as you place a brick. (...) It is significantly faster and less of a hog. Apparently some people are running into graphic card problems but it's a huge, huge, huge improvement of 1.6. Featurewise 2.0 has a lot of cute things like right-click view rotation and other (...) (17 years ago, 21-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

(...) The price of red train doors just dropped significantly! I have been watching this on BrickLink and red trains doors usually run anywhere from $4-$8, the left hand doors being more expensive. Simply being able to filter by 'Trains' and 'Cool Creations' together would be a big help, but it seems they couldn't achieve that. It's a shame it takes such a major overhaul for (...) As we near the release of LDD 2.0, I offer the following tale... Two weeks ago, I was visiting the Tyson's Corner LEGO Store. Seems that James Mathis and I were thinking along similar lines this past week. I, too, designed some streamliner cars of my own using the LEGO Factory parts palette, although I modeled mine on the "Metroliner" paint scheme rather than for the Super (...) Adding to Paul's comment about sub assemblies... when building using LDD, I have noticed that it is difficult to build SNOT assemblies, especially when some of the bricks aren't directly attached to the SNOT brick.
