Since we've mentioned other Macromedia products, I've used Fireworks
for this. It has a cool preview feature that lets you tweak out an
image, deciding on quality vs size and it even gives you an estimate
of the download time at 28.8.
Fireworks 2 just came out, also $99 at our campus computer store. A
good deal, imo.
And it isn't *just* an image optimizer.
