I looked it up a long time ago, I think on dictionary.com, and it gave me 2
definitions - 1 was a group of companies but I recall getting something
similar to an organization or group of people coming together for one
purpose. Now I get:
consortium n : an association of companies for some definite purpose [syn:
pool, syndicate]
