As Niels indicated, the 4 x 12 x 3 1/3 versions are openable with a screwdriver, allowing the actual motors to be replaced, so I think the term "Shortcut" is correct. How does that scan_order thing work? I've added three more paths in mlcad.ini, but the parts in these folders don't show up anywhere in MLCad. When I was building set 347 in LDraw, I noticed that the dots on the baseplate did not correspond with the walls in the instructions. I changed the dots using the instructions. As I don't have this baseplate in real, I don't know how the dots are in (...) (20 years ago, 29-Jun-04, to lugnet.cad)

The line 0 FILE 32180s.dat should probably be 0 FILE s/32180s.dat To view [DAT] links you need to register a viewing program for the mime types associated with DAT, LDR, and MPD files. I think (...) (...) I don't think so. 5 is for keeping track of which parts we've looked at, not which ones to ignore when your run your mirror program. Eventually I think we'll remove all the ones marked with a 5 from the MIRROR.INI file. (And that includes the (...) (20 years ago, 24-Jun-04, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Why? I have a slow PC, and running the mirwiz.exe program is nearly instantaneous. It's a lookup and 2 matrix multiplies per part. If the exception matrix lookup fails, use the default matrix. It would take extra, unneeded code to ignore (...) (20 years ago, 24-Jun-04, to lugnet.cad)

What about a flag for default behavior? I've been coding to ignore ones with default rotations, but there are plenty of parts (especially slopes) that need a (-1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1) rotation applied when reflected front-to-back and it would be nice to (...) (20 years ago, 24-Jun-04, to lugnet.cad)

BUT, it is far easier (IMO) to hand-transform row/column LDraw commands than the equivalent column/row commands (like I've had to do in POV-Ray code). (...) I guess I'm thinking about this differently. It's not that the individual studs on the brick don't allow other mating angles. (IE you can place a 1 x 6 technic plate with rounded ends on any single stud at some funcky angles) It's the combination of (...) There are a fair few instances were the clicking behaviours of two bricks would be different even though they are both referencing the same stud.dat file (...) The it would be slick to have the LCD info in the dat file, but it might complicate issues being dicussed by the Ldraw committee : ( It seems that pov style includes aren't allowd in official files either so maybe keeping it seperate for a while (...) Then, when reading a DAT file, a program can recognize and parse LCD info, in addition to looking for the .lcd file. Does that make sense? Do you (...) Hi Glide has been on hold now for about a month but its back in development. You can look forward to clicking bricks in about two to three weeks. (...) Sorry, I misunderstood the terminology. I figured you could either mirror across a plane, or along a line. You can't mirror across a line - it's 1D. So I assumed when people were writing about mirroring 'across the Z axis', they meant to use (...) (20 years ago, 21-Jun-04, to lugnet.cad)

Even MLCad can do this - using "EXPORT" feature under menu "file". I guess there's also possibility how to batch-process it, but I am not sure. Try MLCad's help for more information. Robert (20 years ago, 21-Jun-04, to lugnet.cad)
