Ok let me step into this one since I just happened across the thread via the
web interface.
I have no idea what "Mecha" is or are, I see these creations that y'all post
to brickshelf and such, but I still don't know what really makes a mecha a
mecha. Are they vehicles for people to ride in and control, or are they
robots? Where does the theme come from? Is it from a line of comics, books
or tv shows? The only thing I have to use is a reference is the old Ultra
Man shows I used to watch as a child (shows my age huh?) or the Power Ranger
movies my son enjoys so much. I guess I'm just out of the loop on the whole
mecha thing.
Now at the same time let me say that I wouldn't suggest that the mecha
community has less of a role on LUGNET than do the trains, space or castle
people. I think may of the creations show a very imaginitive use of LEGO,
but I think I'll stick with trains and let y'all handle the mecha.

| (...) See? It hasn't been 30 seconds after my post and there is already a person confirming exactly what I said. I am not surprised that people don't want to see mechs, and note, I have never even critisized Lego for not having a mecha theme. It is (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

While the strict japanese definition covers anything mechanical, for our editorial purposes we'll define "mecha" as manned power (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
