  New battlemech: Cougar

Me again! After being reinspired by Pawel charznecki's artwork, i decided to build a battletech mech that i have wanted to build for awhile. That mech is obviously the cougar :) The design is a refreshing change in pace from my recent humanoid-mecha (...)   bot head & gun

i was just fiddlin' around and discovered how to make a small (3 piece) bot head: (URL) and a small (3 piece)rotating gun using a hammer piece: (URL) my gallery (post mod): (URL) Jeff (21 years ago, 8-Jun-03, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Blue Dragon

I can't seem to stop building dragons for some reason. Anyway, here's my latest, a blue dragon. He is by far the most articulate dragon so far: * head moves up & down * mouth opens & closes * shoulders move up & down, left & right * arms bend at the (...)   Re: Fuchi Fuchi!

(...) Oohh, thanks! (...) Yep. I've been looking into other uses for it. Makes great railings. (...) Actually, it was modeled after the "Fuchi Tantrum" scene in the manga. Take care, Soren (21 years ago, 6-Jun-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Fuchi Fuchi!

(...) (Blush again) Thanks! It's horribly inaccurate, but I'm glad you like it. (...) Yep, I've got a breakdown pic too. Instructions... umm, someday ;) Take care, Soren (21 years ago, 6-Jun-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New mecha: Hoplite

Frank, this is neat. I like the head and I encourage you to continue building. Always good to see stuff from you. Keep up the good work. e (21 years ago, 6-Jun-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Hasbro goes to the bricks!

(...) An excellent point. Looking at the MegaBloks military sets is just unpleasant. Not that they are necessarily bad in their own way, but the specialized pieces, particularily the ordinance/hardware look like non-construction parts tacked on. For (...)   Re: Hasbro goes to the bricks!

(...) One thing I really enjoy about LEGO maintaining "non-violent" production is military MOC creativity. With the introduction of "violent" sets, many are tempted to use "short-cut parts" for weapons. This part, for instance: (URL) I see a lot of (...)   Re: Hasbro goes to the bricks!

(...) Hate to be blunt, but it won't happen. The closest thing LEGO got to a violent "realistic" line was Wild West, and it was cut short after two years. Gundam? Please LEGO, no! No more licenses!   Re: Hasbro goes to the bricks!

(...) Hmmmmmm...this may not be a bad thing. It might finally be the kick in the butt necessary to get Lego to wake up and release more modern sets, and get past their anti-violence fears. At some point they simply have to go ahead and do it.. (...) (21 years ago, 6-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build.military)

  Little Mech

Hi, This is a small mech I made some months ago and only now got the chance to photograph (new digicam - woohoo!).   Re: Heavy duty mecha (or other) joint

(...) Yep, but to get the joint strength, you'll need to re-inforce the sides of the cylinder brick. Solution: switch to an r2-d2 body instead like so: (2 URLs) This way, not only do you have your joint, but you have SNOT wherever you need it. It's (...)   Awesome mech images

Re: Heavy duty mecha (or other) joint

(...) Jeff, that's pretty cool. I wonder what would happen if you put a 2x2 cylinder brick: [LDrawPart 3941:15] inside of a couple 1x4x1 arches: [LDrawPart 3659:15:2] Is that possible with some SNOT to hold the arches together? --Todd (21 years ago, 5-Jun-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)
