Hello, Joel has always razzed me about the size of my houses. So I tried a "selectively compressed" house... what ever that really means I have no idea. But here it is. Thanks for the compliments. Unfortunately, this building is attached to about 6 baseplates, so its not really transportable. I thought about making it possible to detach, but it became too complex because it is penetrated by the monorail on the (...) (23 years ago, 14-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

Thanks, My building time is often done with the baby (in a sling) or while he is sleeping or feeding. Back in July I built a city block of mostly "historic-style" buildings to go on the Vancouver Lego Club's train show layout. Hay All, This is my warehouse. It is the first "Large Scale" building that I have completed. It was mostly done to experiment on the support system for the roof, and to use some of the red and blue bricks that I had stockpiled. (URL) added a couple (...) I love the castleish tower/keep with the yellow highlights! I think they look great, but might change the thin grey horizontal plates between the different stories to yellow as well. I really did the red&white canopy. Those 1x6x31/2 arches are among my favorite pieces. 6 months ago I would have salivated at the use of so many, but I have a lot now as well, thanks to Brickbay (although my supply for new buildings is pretty low - (...) For the past 6 months, I have avoided this newsgroup ( lugnet.build.arch ) , on the basis that building things with arches was a bit restrictive, and anyway, I don't have enough arches to do anything interesting. Hm. Dan, your point is valid, I think, but not what Larry was referring to. To my way of thinking, the buildings -should- have been (but were not) posted to lugnet.trains. Actually, Larry, it can be viewed as most appropriate of John Neal to post to .train. I kindly direct you to model rr mags which routinely feature articles on buildings related to train layouts. Looks nice. The see-through nature of the thin-walls make it seem a little too "empty" though. I know how you feel about exteriors coming before interiors, but you might want to try doing a little something, perhaps in the lobby, just to make it (...) Although this building is new to the net, I actually began building it last year after a huge sale of 4561s from Walmart. The building took all of the 1x2x3 trans light blue thin wall elements from over 40 sets (I've forgotten how many came in each (...) Well, after about 3 weeks of working on this for a few hours a night, I am done with the model. Those are both really great. The use of color is nice and they both have a good level of detail. They don't look "flat" like many 2nd rate LEGO buildings.
