When I first saw this, I loved the idea of fender/mudgards for the ears.  I
still think it's kinda' neat.

The basic idea for both horses and elephants come from
official LEGO models and idea books.

And if I'm not mistaken, you built a model of Tux, using classic bricks
only, correct?

Yup (had to include a few 1x2's to get it right though). A
friend of mine is taking care of it at the moment. He has
some problems getting good photos of it.
