  Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) I guess I just expected that the ambassadors would make it their job to know what the top issues are for the LEGO community without us having to nag them. (17 years ago, 31-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

  Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) Excellent idea friend. (...) In my opinion this "issues" list *is* a wish list as it is a list of the things the AFOL community would like Lego to correct. However I am a little dissapointed in this list as it is all complaints. Not that I (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

  Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) I'm kind of surprised at the level of discussion about this list - although not too surprised, I guess, this being Lugnet. But I would've expected this amount of disagreement about the first such "issues list" presented to TLG by the (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

  Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) Of course not *all* fans share *all* the concerns. I assume(d) noone would have even expected a list with such criteria, since such a list would be clearly empty - for each and every concern I am quite positive there is a fair amount of people (...)   Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) Not at all. I'm merely just speaking for myself. The 'issue' list supposedly represents fans concerns. I'm just pointing out that maybe not all fans, certainly not this one, share those concerns. I'm not asking for the list to be edited, if (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

  Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) The first two issues are the main problems in my mind and deserve their place. I think TLG has many top notch set designs these days, but this is the first time I've ever seen questionable manufacturing quality from them. I have gotten a lot (...)   Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) I find a modicum of comfort in knowing that even LEGO acknowledges that the RC trains have load problems: (URL) that they recommend the RC trains only run the number of wagons the sets come with (2 on the passenger, 4 on the cargo train). That (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

  Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) Sure, but what I have been trying to say, apparently totally unsuccessfully, is that you cannot start attacking the ambassadors because they did not make it a current issue if the publicity work is so bad that someone like me (reasonably (...)   Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) I can't cite numbers, but I know that my wife became an AFOL after being inspired by a SCLTC demonstration. She had always been a model railroad fan, never ran one, but seeing the integration of training, set building, and technic trestle (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

  Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) I concur. But the lack of such updates should not be interpreted as victory. Just not enough work done on publicity. (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

  Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) OK, to phrase things more accurately, of all the activities that AFOLs do, train shows are the most visible to the public. Joe made an interesting point about BrickJournal, but I've always assumed that BrickJournal was "preaching to the (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors)

  Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) Actually while I would not support "needlessly complaining" if it is still an issue, and Save9VTrains is the HQ of the effort to actually do something about it, then yes they should have some sort of updates on a regular basis. For instance (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

  Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) Stores used to carry LEGO train sets on shelves, too. However, I don't know if they were big sellers -- I got a 4561 Railway Express at Target for 50% off. TRU always has a good LEGO selection, but I haven't even seen any of the RC train sets (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

Re: Impact of LTCs (Re: The Official "Issues List")

(...) I'd be curious about hard numbers as well. In the past couple of years that I've been involved with train shows, we've probably shown to a couple thousand people at each show. This is just based on my estimation though, as I'm not privy to any (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, lugnet.trains)

  Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) Good point. The question then becomes where can you blend a certain theme with an already existing Con or event. LEGO did it in what I thought was a spectacular fashion at Celebration III, with a huge display of SW ships in LEGO (including (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors)

  Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) Why? Your thrust seemed to be the PR value of the 9V trains line - and PR value is to the public, not just AFoLs (in fact, AFoLs, as has been discussed, seem to make up a small percentage of the sales... although I personally seem to be (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors)

  Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) As someone living in such a country, I must confirm this. I am here talking about Norway which, ironically enough, is one of Denmark's first neighbours and which, for many years now, hasn't been on S@H's list. Needless to say that the (...)   Impact of LTCs (Re: The Official "Issues List")

(...) It's potentially a large audience... I wonder if the community, and the campaign to save 9V trains wouldn't benefit from gathering a more solid understanding of some of the numbers involved. For example: How many people have viewed LEGO train (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors, lugnet.trains)

  Re: The Official "Issues List"

(...) I have to take issue with the statement also. BrickJournal has become pretty visible to the public eye, as it now averages 50,000 downloads an issue. In terms of visibility, the magazine has gotten inquiries and news releases from places such (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jul-07, to lugnet.ambassadors)
