Unfortunately, due to viral infection by a KAK worm virus recently, I've
been forced to limit IE5 with the updated versions for two of the scripting
tools which were previously marked as 'safe for scripting' but aren't
automatically run by IE5 any more.
Basically, what this means is that any scripts of yours that are affected by
this change are now broken. I had to install the Eyedog fix from the
Microsoft site in order to fix the ways in which this particular virus
affected my computer. It also means that the scripting for the QuickSet
search function is now broken. Is there a way to program around this?
Just FYI, the two scripting tools it affects are scriptlet.typlib and
eyedog. One is no longer marked as safe for scripting which means I'll get
prompted whenever a script uses it, and the other no longer loads at all.
If you can program around these unfortunate, but necessary, alterations of
how my browser handles scripting tools, I would appreciate it!!
A full rundown on the Microsoft site can be found by going to
http://www.microsoft.com/TechNet/IE/tools/scrpteye.asp and having a look at
the information contained therein.
Cheers ...
