  Re: Excessive Cross Posting

(...) I think that's a bit extreme, although what I snipped below is good discussion fodder. I think a number of the recent cross posts have been initiated by people who either are new, or who don't post as often as some of us. An initial cross post (...) (...) Was, ya. (...) I was using a regex involving \n\s* which compiled into a nondeterministic finite-state automata in Perl 5.004 and 5.005. Perl 5.6 is smart enough to compile it into a deterministic finite-state automata (essentially realising (...) (24 years ago, 17-Dec-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  New-by-Mail suggestion

Todd: I finally got around to signing up for a little news-by-mail... Then it occurred to me. What I'd REALLY like is: 1) to be notified every time someone replies to a posting I've made, and not eveything that goes into a group. and 2) To be (...)   TLC re-releasing discontinued LEGO Duplo set!

Hi all, although we shouldn't be optimistic becuase the small fact I found out today, I still can't wait to tell you about it! Today, I *might* have found the very first re-released discontinued set ever. It's nothing important IMHO as it's been (...)   Error in Hash Database again?

Todd, FYI: I started getting errors while posting using e-mail again, starting Thursday, 12/7. I received another one today, so I thought you'd like to know. (...) Whoops, you're absolutely right. I get MSOE and MSIE mixed up all the time. Fraser was using MS Internet Exploiter, not MS Look Out!. It's IE5 that's doing the evil. --Todd (25 years ago, 11-Aug-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Pause News-by-Mail
