Do we have numbers on relative mail/nntp/web POSTING usage?

NNTP already allows cancel. It is possible for someone who knows the NNTP
protocol to forge cancels, I believe, but I am not sure.
I would be OK with web cancel only working when you were signed in (that is,
non members don't have it) because I think membership is more secure than
identity as it's currently constituted.
I would also be OK with mail cancel remaining manual IF the mail posting
numbers were small. not counting bridged mailing lists, I bet they are but I
dunno.
Remember the goal here is to have Todd invest in some code which in the long
run reduces his workload *and* allows cancels to happen faster. I know he
now has some mechanism or another that catches dups and cancels them but I
dunno if that mechanism is all hand, or a combination of filters and manual.
