  Re: NNTP is working (mostly)

(...) I suggest it as a temporary measure only until this problem were resolved other ways. Think of it as a detour while the real road is repaired. I have no idea if it's technically even feasible, or would solve the problem (from the outside (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-03, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

Re: The Blood of Patriots & Tyrants (was Re: Sticking my gun...etc.)

(...) You need to do a cost benefit analysis here. Even one homicide or accidental death is undeniably tragic, but death, in the long run, is not preventable. Everyone dies of something some time. Weigh those 11,000 or 25.000 (tragic) yearly deaths (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: NNTP is working (mostly)

(...) Any chance that turning off NNTP (except as presented by the web or mail interfaces, but not accepting stuff from the outside world) would work? It would mean that nntp users would be cut off completely, but is that worse, or better, than (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-03, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

Ivan, we all know that wasn't you, for two reasons. 1) There's this thing about games, they require that you stay within the boundaries of the playing field to avoid DQ. (...) This just shows how spiffily different we all are... The programming used in X seems fairly straighforward (conceptually) to me... just scan the board to see what's there and put things from where they ain't supposed to be to where they is. (...)   Re: Liberty vs. Socialism

(...) I'm not sure you've shown that, actually. Note please that I am not asserting that (for example) the US is not a socialist state, for it is... I'm merely talking about the general case. (21 years ago, 19-Sep-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) They're good enough to convey intent, I'd say! (...) Very spiffy. I would suggest some mottling, though, as real trees (with some exceptions like red maples) tend not to be solidly one color. Usually a lot of one with some dapples of another. (...) (21 years ago, 19-Sep-03, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Press releases

Anyone have any sample press releases they'd be willing to share? Knowing how the press release fared when sent out (in terms of whether it got any coverage as a result) certainly would be nice too, but not required. Thanks!
