Pirates and the next LEGO Legend

Ok, so I have my first job, and my first paycheck came last month. Unlike most teenagers, my first thought was not a car, stereo, or girl (actually, that was my second thought, but that's not relevant) but "Wow! I can finally get the Black Seas (...) (21 years ago, 3-Nov-03, to lugnet.pirates)

Misnomer: we are all Lego collectors!

I would just like to clarify a point here: we are all Lego collectors. Lego refers to us that way, we behave like classic collectors, and there is nothing wrong with being a Lego collector! Look at all the catalogs and Lego Mania magazines. They are (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Time to write Lego Consumer Affairs a (nasty) letter..

(...) I don't exactly know the answer to that officially...I'm assuming that they got a 9 year (3 film) license considering that they are issuing out models for Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones. That is my best guess. You are right classic space (...) (23 years ago, 9-Mar-02, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.starwars)

Re: Time to write Lego Consumer Affairs a (nasty) letter..

(...) Yeah. Those are a few sets I've always wanted, but never got a chance to acquire. Hopefully, LEGO should release a Space Legend in the near future, if they EVER do. :) If Lego couldn't make the tooling, do you think it would be be possible for (...)   Re: Black Falcon's Fortress is back!

(...) Jake, this is great news, but many of us are left with some question: 1) Why did this set hit the shelves in Europe before you told us about it? Many of us pondered a mysterious Kmart add and speculated, then 1000stiene suddenly had pictures. (...) (22 years ago, 2-Oct-02, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.castle)

Re: Lloyd Alexander books (was:Re: 2000 catalog page 16)

... lots of snipped quotes ... Hmm, which book is Phlewder Phlam in? One of Lloyd Alexander's one-of-a-kind books is: The Marvelous Misadventures of Sebastian. Though I liked the Prydain books a lot, this no-magic tale was weirdly fun. Hey, somebody (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Best Lego Year of all time?

(...) I didn't see any new Mindstorms product announced for 2003. I don't see Lego still producing Classic Space sets. I don't see Lego currently producing any Technic sets with classic studded beams. (apart from 8431 crane truck, of course) I don't (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Why the early end to 10040 Black Seas Barracuda?

(...) I would guess the main reason would be it isn't selling! No matter how desired a product once was, eventually the sales peter out (Hogwarts Castle for historical reference).   Re: Worth the wait? (NO!)

(...) I think the rerelease of old sets can be a step towards better new sets. One of the reasons I always wished LEGO would put out old sets is that it would raise the bar for current sets. I like to think that once people are exposed to older, (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Best of 2002

Hi all, There are some similar threads on the fbtb forums, but I thought I'd see what responses I'd get here. Now that the year is over, we can look back with some perspective on the years releases. So, two questions: 1. What was your favorite new (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

Since town has been juniorized and I don't like those new World City sets too much, Well I have a good portion of the juniorized sets, actually alarmingly high (sad to say). The new World (...) Hello! (...) Of course it is! Why do you think would anybody sell $200 to get a #6067? To complete their collection only. If you want to play you can build way better MOCs!
