  Re: Crazy Zellers sale

(...) All y'all did a pretty crappy job of cleaning shelves, given how much stock was still around the 3 stores I checked. ;] But I guess you can only have so many Yoda's. Today was a nice day for me, but bad news for my VISA card. Final stats are (...) (20 years ago, 5-Sep-04, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Take a Ride on the Reading ( 0-6-0T Reading Switcher using Big Ben Bricks New Medium Drivers)

(...) Thanks Ben I tried out the 1x1 slopes. It definitely helps smooth things out more. The cab interior still needs a bit of work. I,m not quite happy with the detailing yet. The cramped space makes it challenging. I'll get some pics up in the (...) (17 years ago, 26-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Set 7029

(...) Try flourescent lighting sometime. I'm thoroughly convinced that any focus groups that might have been asked about the bleys vs. greys had to have been shown the different colors under standard cool-white flourescent lighting like you'd find (...) (18 years ago, 9-Apr-07, to lugnet.color)

It's a definite possibility, and the only one that would mesh with the claim that they were bringing the three affected colors more in line with the rest of the color palette (even regular blue and dark-green have a distinct warm undertone and (...)   Re: Peeron Inventory Correction

(...) Just consider yourselve lucky that you found any legos in a garage sale. I looked for 13 years in Burbank, Studio City and Thousand Oaks and never found one lego for sale. Everyone had legos, but they were saving them for their kids or (...) (17 years ago, 29-Nov-07, to lugnet.inv)

  LDD slug models

Here’s my take on a yard slug. Slugs are just frames with traction motors mounted on the wheels. The traction motors are fed from a slightly modified (added power sockets) diesel/electric locomotive that is coupled to the slug. At low speeds, the (...) (...) Personally, I think BrickLink needs to change their color names. Peeron approached this problem by VERY EXPLICITLY renaming "Gray" to "OldGray", "DkGray" to "OldDkGray" and "Brown" to "OldBrown". The problem is of course as you point out, that (...) (...) Well, it was worth a try. I tried both LDD1.6 and LDD2.0 . Both required a new Linux /lib32 library, libdrm.so.1 . I got that and installed it. LDD1.6 tries to do what looks like some OpenGLL stuff that isn't supported. It *did* manage to (...) (18 years ago, 9-Apr-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.ldd)

I will not adopt the new colors. There was no justifiable reason for them to be changed. All the suggestions I've heard as to why just do not make sense to me from a business standpoint. I associate the old brown and gray colors with my childhood. (...) (18 years ago, 8-Apr-07, to lugnet.color)
