  Re: cleaning lego bricks

(...) Sure, I'll give you some info... I've actually got not just one, but *two* pieces of info for you: 1. Your post is terrifically off topic for *every* *single* *group* you posted it to(a), except, maybe (and this is a stretch) (...)   FS: one box of Elgo 'American Bricks'

A few days ago a friend of mine called and told me he had discovered a box of plastic bricks while cleaning out a storage shed and wondered if I wanted them. My first assumption was that they would be old CA LEGO bricks. Upon collecting them, I was (...) (18 years ago, 9-Apr-06, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

(...) It's entirely possible. I've noticed that there are two distinct versions of the old classic brown when produced in ABS (just the harder plastic used for 2x4 bricks, not the softer plastics), but they only really show up under blacklight. (...) (20 years ago, 26-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)

(...) Lego has produced different shades of white and I always wondered if they were experimenting with additives. Some of the white bricks are just milkier, less brilliant, out of the box. (...) Bleach is great for dirt, but yellowing of ABS is caused by a chemical breakdown of the plastic molecules, not surface dirt. ABS is not UV-stable, and natural ABS (which has a milky beige color) will turn brown and brittle/powdery over time. (...) (20 years ago, 24-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)

Hey, I'm no expert! I just got some Brasso about a week ago. It does take a long time, but a half hour is WAY too long. I found that you have to use a CLEAN surface. If its dirty, it doesn't seem to work. I started with a rag, but it got crap all (...) (24 years ago, 9-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Bricks from 152 bonus boxes (tub 4679) listed at Missing Brick

Hi all, I just loaded the bricks that were in 152 bonus boxes strapped to the 4679 tubs into my store (phew, what a sort that was!). I previously loaded some in my store, and now simply updated quantities, so almost no wanted notifications went out. (...) (19 years ago, 25-Feb-05, to lugnet.market.brickshops)

Hey.. instead of cleaning out the old ABS then loading the new, maybe let the old ABS run nearly out, then load the new right on top. Theoretically (just a theory..
