You can use the metal polishing product called "Brasso" along with a cotton
polishing cloth (I use old t-shirt bits), and then wash the Brasso residue off
of your bricks in some combination of liquid detergent (I use "Simple Green")
and water. Be warned that Brasso removes the print from printed elements --
which is actually what I normally use it for.
You can bring badly scratched elements back to life this way, even trans
elements, but I wouldn't bother with any elements that weren't seriously in
need of it. It will take considerable elbow grease. I have tried buffing
elements, but usually the friction, even at low speeds, is enough to heat
damage the ABS.
