Right now, I doubt there is a real need to have a "WWLTC". Although some
aspects of what PNLTC and GMLTC have done are not widely publicised (for
example, the exact sponsorship deals that both GMLTC and PNLTC have recieved)
this info is around, and people in both clubs are free to advise on who to
contact (at least, I hope we (pnltc) have been).
So, for now, I think that the occasional post from all of the train clubs would
be helpful, but we don't have to have a world org. -yet.
I'd think that it would be a fair amount of work for relatively little gain as
of this point in time. The Model Engineering hobby has gotten along for 100+
years without one, and NMRA is _NOT_ a world wide representation of the "tin
mice" sized stuff either. (For example, neither of my clubs are members of the
NMRA, it just has nothing to offer).
I think that LUGNET, and more particulary the trains.org section is as good a
forum as we need for now, along with the occasional private Email between the
different groups.

| (...) Oh, I'll take this bait: LEGO paid about 80% of the costs to get the GMLTC and our layout out to Carlsbad. That's it. That's *every* "sponsorship" deal the GMLTC has ever received. We lose money on every show we do, even the occasional show (...) (24 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)
