Why did I want to be a part of the NMRA? Other

Now that you mention it, I agree! They have very little to offer us. They
have a huge knowledge database on model railroading which mostly does not apply
to us. The proposed ILTC above makes the point for me. Compare going to a
NMRA conference where I might see a LEGO train layout to an ILTC where I get to
see layouts, trains and get to see and hear all the latest on LEGO building
tips and techniques (so I'm not tempted to use those non-LEGO elements).

Some fear that those fearing the demise of the theme will bring in non-LEGO elements (...) (25 years ago, 23-Nov-99, to lugnet.trains)
