I agree. But I am also positive that we need to aim higher than customer
service. I am also positive that Lugnet is the WRONG forum for the many
suggested online marketing database things, and other like suggestions -- a
little bird told me that Todd isn't interested in generating any negative
publicity for TLG, EVER! AND, I for one am only willing to give up personal
information only under very particular circumstances -- essentially TLG would
have to host the site themselves and promise complete confidentiality, or that
the information gathered would be used by TLG exclusively.
I think an online petition would be great if someone had the ability to host
such a site and had a good TLG contact who would hopefully get this past all
the usual corporate goons. Some sort of simple interface where one adds one's
name to a statement making all the usual demands/requests. Even if it didn't
work, at least TLG would have some idea of the sorts of things we want done.
Of course, they may already read lugnet and would therefore already know this.
After seeing maiden hats in black, which for the intrepid means maiden hats in
ANY color if the castle maiden comes in a small enough set, I am literally
holding my breath for the castle 2000 line. This is a great start to what
might be at least a partial answer to many an AFOL's dreams -- more new stuff
as good as the old stuff! We still need pirate and the anti-juniorization to
take full effect, but perhaps things will work out.
