A brief transcript of this article, found on page 109 in the "Christmas Gift
Guide" of December's issue of Playboy.
"Lego has come up with the ultimate big-boy toy - the Mindstorms Romotics
Invention System. This $200 kit lets you design and program an actual robot
(such as the Coin Sorter, pictured here, which uses sensors to determine coin
size and separate pocket change accordingly). Each Mindstorms package includes
more than 700 plastic pieces, plus all the motors, gears and computer
accessories necessary to get your invention going."
A follow-up piece of information on page 202 states: Robotics Kit by Lego,
800-510-5773... I'm assuming this is simple Lego US's number.
There, now you don't have to be embarrassed about picking a copy up just to
look at this Lego bit (the picture is fairly dull, and you honestly couldn't
say that it was a coin sorter unless the text had said already).
