Hi Brian,
Awesome, awesome! Great job on this, the use of bridges and retaining walls,
etc... I love how we (L-gaugers) are getting more and more sophisticated
about our layouts. Of course we all know that GMLTC has been sculpting
layouts for ever and the really cool SCLTC sculpted layout from a couple
years ago.
I was wondering if you can share with us the hows and wheres of
storing and transporting this super-module. The GPLR has a similar mountain
(not as big, 2 modules) but were trying to figure out the best method to
transport it and store it etc... In fact these issues is a huge gating
factor for our potential growth. I wonder if other clubs are experiencing
the same issues.
We have talked off and on about a club trailer but no one in the club has a
place to park it. Anyone have some creative solutions? :)

I agree awesome work, highlighted for sure.
My biggest problem with large scluptured modules is not where to store them
but having the room to build them. My LEGO room isnt big enough for me to
keep a few modules setup over a long period of time for building. So I have
to limit my building to things that can be built in sections and them put
together at shows.
For some reason my wife doesnt understand that the dining room table would
be a great place for me to do some large scale building, something about
entertaining guest and such....oh well.

Im sure my wife can empathise with that! Our dining table is covered with
Lego. I was building 48x48 modules on the table but fitting them together takes
up the whole table!
It is better to have a large flat surface for building on the big plates. My
modules are now in the loft. We had it converted just for the Lego railway, but
I take a box of bricks up there to build the modules (we dont have a basement
as many US houses have). Ive found that a size of 48x48 makes the modules easy
to handle, using track pieces and bricks with pegs to lock them together. It
also makes the building goals small enough to achieve!
I aspire to scenery of the quality of the mountain, though a little larger for
8mm:1ft scale! Im catching up, having spent longer up to now on the trains
themselves. Im starting by doing the track bed on the existing non-modular
layouts whilst experimenting with fully scenic modules for the new one.
