And I just thought, doesn't power still get through to the straight track as
the loco passes a "reversed" switch in the wrong direction and pushes the
switching rail out of the way? I had an idea the switching of power was done
with trickery underneath? I could be wrong. If I'm not, you could leave it
switched to "reverse", and figure out some way to permanently (with a plate
somewhere or something) force the switching rail away from the fixed one.
