  Re: HF110C 0-6-0T+T - 6 wide, powered and not really 0-6-0

--snip-- (...) Thanks. I'll let me off too. I always think I'd prefer to have working pistons but when push comes to shove I just find them too bulky and go back to faking it. (...) I do like to steal. I should really give credit to Ben Beneke too (...) (17 years ago, 28-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

(...) More Polish/German ;) I was trying to do the icecream = smoke trick that misterzumbi used (can't find the photo) but since I couldn't find my icecreams I had to make do with a croissant. (...) Thanks. Tim (17 years ago, 28-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

(...) You are like those kids who think every loco is Thomas ;-) (they mostly seem to be colour blind, which would worry me if I was their parent) Pannier tank (URL) HF110C (in blue) (URL) Tim (17 years ago, 27-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

WIP-Passenger Dome car using 10183 set

With the holidays approaching, I have been working on building passenger cars for my 6-wide PRR T1 to pull around the Christmas tree. I was limited to the remaining parts from the 10183 Hobby Set after building the high-nose diesel (which is also (...) (17 years ago, 27-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  2007 Christmas Train Show wrap-up

Well that was fun! The good-- Friends, LEGO, crowds... The bad-- no stanctions... The Ugly-- "Hey you Parent!! Wanna take your completely tantrum-throwing brat out to the car for a time-out?" Geesh! Anyway, I've uploaded some pics-- (URL) In which (...) (17 years ago, 27-Nov-07, to lugnet.org.ca.obb, lugnet.loc.ca.on, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: HF110C 0-6-0T+T - 6 wide, powered and not really 0-6-0

(...) Really nice work, Tim. You have packed in a lot of greeblie things which adds to the visual interest of the MOC. I especially like the croissant for smoke-- that idea strikes me as so Japanese for some reason. Are you turning Japanese? :-) I'm (...) (17 years ago, 27-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Help looking for specific train pics.

(...) We've been looking into a few hotels, but the cheaper ones aren't close to Downtown Disney (more like closer to Universal). Now that Festival of the Masters is over (see (URL) Joe Meno's Flickr set> ) and Thanksgiving is out of the way, we'll (...) (17 years ago, 27-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: HF110C 0-6-0T+T - 6 wide, powered and not really 0-6-0

(...) That is lovely. Shape and detail. I'll even let you off the missing wheels! I think its the option I would have taken and its not really that obvious the representation of the valve gear and connecting rods hides it well. You look like you (...)   The Steam Engines of Sava Railways

Blame John, he was the one who said I needed to do a group shot. Since my wife was about to commandeer the last unused table and white sheet for her snow village, I decided that this was the time to do it. (URL) A few more pictures in the (URL) (...)   Re: Sava Railways' #982 "Lady" (with Big Ben's Medium Drivers)

(...) I'd love to do it in dark blue, but I would have to sacrifice a lot of curves and detail given the lack of currently available dark blue parts. More than likely I'd be building it in regular blue. (plus BBB wheels come in regular blue) (...) (...) (17 years ago, 27-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Sava Railways' #982 "Lady" (with Big Ben's Medium Drivers)

(...) Tough choice. #425 is a nice Loco and dark blue steam would rock. (URL) The (URL) Pennsy T-1 Duplex> is just awesome and is on my build list. A note on color though. All T-1s were painted standard Pennsy Dark Green Locomotive Enamel (Brunswick (...) (17 years ago, 26-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Take a Ride on the Reading ( 0-6-0T Reading Switcher using Big Ben Bricks New Medium Drivers)

(...) Thanks Since #1251 spent most of its time moving other locomotives around the Reading shops it doesn't look to far out of place when being shoved by another powered loco. Here is a pic with the updated tank. New (URL) Old (URL) And a cab shot (...) (17 years ago, 26-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Pittsburgh & Lake Erie RR Caboose and Hopper

Re: Pittsburgh & Lake Erie RR Caboose and Hopper

(...) Cale, Wow. Great units and great details on both. The interior work on the caboose is awesome and inspiring. I will definitely be borrowing some ideas to improve my car interiors. Tremendous work. One question. I was wondering if you (...) (17 years ago, 26-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Sava Railways' #982 "Lady" (with Big Ben's Medium Drivers)

(...) Thanks much! I really don't think I deserve a discount, but I have to admit my wife would appreciate it, what with all the wheels I've bought :) Plus it seems like every week I find some new design I'd love to tinker with (much to my wife's (...)   Re: Sava Railways' #982 "Lady" (with Big Ben's Medium Drivers)

(...) Thanks much! Coming from someone who's seen the original I consider that high praise. I wish I could have seen Puffy in person, and if I ever do I may revise Lady.   Re: Sava Railways' #982 "Lady" (with Big Ben's Medium Drivers)

(...) Thanks! I've been toying with the idea of adding flags to all of my locos, but I'll probably stop with the "older" models where'd they'd be more appropriate and fit in better. --Tony (17 years ago, 26-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)
