(...) LOL! And fierce, too... gotta be careful how you treat her or you'll regret it. Maybe it would be better to have an exit instead, it might be easier to keep. Kevin (25 years ago, 11-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Piece sorting (was: building exhaustion)

(...) "Wider is better" (slogan from a advertisement) (...) We label each drawer. This probably speeds up cleanup even more than building. (...) Hmm. Elevator chair? R2 magnetic lift? Steve (25 years ago, 11-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Piece sorting (was: building exhaustion)

(...) That's the ultimate solution. Especially if you can keep all the same-colored parts in physical proximity, for easier grabbing. Steve (25 years ago, 11-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: Building exhaustion

(...) Nope. There's not even a really good way to store baseplates with identical contours. Those things really pile up! (...) Excuse me, I believe you accidently inserted "with a room" in the above sentence. HTH. (...) This isn't really a sorting (...) (25 years ago, 11-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Piece sorting (was: building exhaustion)

(...) I sort by color and size. I store elements in the storage cases from 545 and 575 (those 6 and 9 compartment drawers using 16x32 baseplates as bins.   Re: Piece sorting (was: building exhaustion)

As some other guys, I think the most appropriate way of sorting/storing the pieces (from the building point of view) is using a drawer system. Mine is from "port-bag" (an imported product so it must be available some other places, too). They are (...) (25 years ago, 11-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Piece sorting (was: building exhaustion)

Hi, Apologies if my silly news reader messed up the quote attributions. :( (...) Then I'm probably WAY too methodical. I've got over 250 drawers, classified by element. If there are too many for the little drawers, I then resort to colour. Standard (...) (25 years ago, 11-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Piece sorting (was: building exhaustion)

Kevin Wilson (...) At the risk of sounding negative, these didn't work as well as I'd hoped. Perhaps I couldn't get the right ones - what I got were drawers/trays about 6-8" deep, 4" wide and about 3" high. They stacked so I tried that. It worked (...) (25 years ago, 11-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

Bram L wrote/: (...) When I first read about doing this it sounded like a great idea and I resorted all my sorted-by-color bricks into sorted-by-size, mixed colors. But when I tried to build, I hated it. The problem is that I mostly do stuff which (...) (25 years ago, 11-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Piece sorting (was: building exhaustion)

(...) I'm in the middle of changing from a color-based storage system to a shape-based one. I used to just separate small special pieces (tiles, windows, minifig tools, etc) from the big one-color only bins (wthe single color looks impressive). Now, (...)
