Aye, the 1x2's are supposed to be backpacks. The Naboo Swamp set is supposed
to be around the same period in the movie as when the Trade Federation Army
assaulted Naboo (when fighting the Gungans.) Those Battle droids had
backpacks, and since they were on STAPS, they've got no guns. The Naboo
Starfighter is based on the time in movie when Anakin had the starfighter in
the Droid Control Base Hangar, and the droids rushed him. They didn't have
backpacks, they had guns. Hope that clears this up.
