  Re: Instructions for LegOS USB support

(...) I'd be interested in tackling Linux, but we can't get the new towers in Australia yet 8?( ROSCO (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: LegOS forced to use another name?

(...) Yeah, I saw your post on slashdot after I'd posted the link here. As you say, if they don't defend their trademark within a reasonable time, they lose the right to do so. I guess the best course of action in this case is "no action"!! ROSCO (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

(...) You ain't just whistlin' Dixie here Ka-On... Off-topic time: Typical "Time Magazine type" twist on the story here...I hate reading Time because every story seems to be written with an antagonistic bent, trying to stir up trouble, instead of (...) (...) from that tiny yellow box? So it got a generic CPU that can read voltage from 3 ports and can adjust 3 power outputs. Really cutting-edge stuff there... That article is just full of you-know-what. (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

(...) Hmmm, does this mean they're acknowledging that people call them "legos" ? ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: Instructions for LegOS USB support

Sigh. Doesn't look like there is any chance that this would work for *nix, except maybe with severe Wine hackery. Has anyone else (with any of the other alternative OSs) tackled the problem of the new towers? I suppose I can try plying one of my (...)   Re: LegOS forced to use another name?

Having registered legOS.sourceforge.net (on Markus's word that TLG had given him permission to use the name), having run the last release of legOS, and having not heard anything from TLG myself, I can say that there are no plans in this corner of (...)   Re: New patch for remote and message

Zhengrong: If you can get a login on sourceforge, and you can send me a patch to review quickly for style and content, I can give you write access to legOS CVS to add your code to the main CVS tree. Thanks for all the effort you've made; sorry I've (...) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: legOS - Which site?

(...) legOS.sourceforge.net is the canonical site for legOS and has been for more than a year. I've asked Markus to take down his site (since he does not keep up with the newer documentation or file releases) but he has not responded to my emails on (...)   Re: LegOS forced to use another name?

They can't possibly do that. According to many published accounts, TLC explicitly says that their product is not to be referred to as "legos" but rather as "LEGO brand building bricks". Therefore, TLC has given up rights to the use of the word (...) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  RE: LegOS forced to use another name?

Ross crawford points to: (...) I can see their point too. As long as it's only about the name then I can't see anyone getting too upset. It's just a name, after all. But if it's about the replacement firmware, then I have more to worry about. So do (...) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos, lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

  Re: RCX 3.0 and legOS 1.2.4

(...) Hmmmm. Sounds intrigueing. Call me a pessimist, but I'd be surprised if they released a 3.0 so soon after 2.0. And the comment about LegOS is stranger, given the article I just posted, and the fact that most of the developers are right here, (...)   LegOS forced to use another name?

Article here: (URL) TLC may be talking to Marcus Noga about his use of "LegOS" for the open-source operating system for the Mindstorms RCX (see last page). I can see their point. Personally, I think "NogOS" has a bit of a ring to it 8?) What does (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos, lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.general, lugnet.mediawatch) !

  Re: Difference in motorspeed when activating lightsensor!

(...) The higher the power level the harder the stop. But the power level before stop() is not used, it always uses power level 7, and you can set it lower only afterwords. (I think that ought to change.) Jürgen (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

  Difference in motorspeed when activating lightsensor!

Hi there, I've just been playing around with a vehicle with a motor for each of the two main wheels. If I don't load the RCX with anything else than these two motors and set their respective speeds to 0 and 7, it drives in a nice circle with a small (...)   Re: About SetSerialComm(SERIAL_COMM_DEFAULT);

You know, I modified legOS to make message commnucation between legOS and NQC, I found new formware can send raw data so that I think if I can make LNP communication between legOS and NQC. Zhengrong (...) (23 years ago, 8-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: About SetSerialComm(SERIAL_COMM_DEFAULT);

hi Zhengrong, Sorry, I didn't understand (or read) your message well, I thought you were looking for communicating with a PC. Well as far as my knowledge reaches, I agree with Dave, the RCX can't receive raw data (except for program downloading, (...) (23 years ago, 8-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Mindstorms 2.0 in Germany

Hi, I 've seen the new Mindstorms 2.0 at Toys'R'us in Neuss (near Cologne and Duesseldorf). It comes with the new usb ir tower for 489 DM. They also sell the old package 1.5 with the old serial ir tower (no usb!) for 449 DM. I don't know if the (...) (23 years ago, 8-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
