Hello,

I've just been playing around with a vehicle with a motor
for each of the two main wheels. If I don't load the RCX
with anything else than these two motors and set their
respective speeds to 0 and 7, it drives in a nice circle
with a small radius. If I, in addition to these two motors,
add a single light sensor, the radius of the circle is
increased significantly (factor of 2-4)...
Do you just add the sensor, or do you also change the program?
Can you post the program(s)?
Ok, I feel like an idiot now; I cannot reproduce the result!
I did it this morning, but altered the program afterwards!
But when I try now, nothing happens!
As I recall it, it was the same program with the light
sensor actived all the time; the only thing I did was to
pull off and put on the light sensor cable... But for now,
just ignore me!! :o)

PS: I'm also playing with the line tracker for the WS3D competition.
Ditto! :o)

PPS: Did you know that the power setting affects braking?
The current API masks this somewhat, as the call to stop
sets the power level to 7.
Hmmm... so the higher the power before stop(), the better
the stop?

Regards,
Martin E. Nielsen

(...) The higher the power level the harder the stop. But the power level before stop() is not used, it always uses power level 7, and you can set it lower only afterwords. (I think that ought to change.) Jürgen (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

I'd rather see what causes this behaviour first, before making some kludge to stop it. Jürgen PS: I'm also playing with the (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)
