  Re: voice synthesis

(...) Actually Radio Shack didn't lie, the chips Jeff are referring to are the SP0256 Allophone synthesizer from General Instrument and the CTS244 text to speech processor, also from GI. The CTS244 was actually a mask programmed PIC chip but it (...) (27 years ago, 1-Jul-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: voice synthesis

(...) [snip] RC Systems, Inc. makes a low-cost ASCII to voice board that provides far better performance than the now-discontinued General Instrument speech chip set many are familiar with.   Re: voice synthesis

(...) I think your radio shack lied to you. In just about every radio shack I have been in I have seen voice sythesis chips along with the othe IC's.   Ticks for start_process

Hi Sriram, The "ticks" argument to start_process won't do what you want. The "ticks" argument to start_process is used for fine-tuning the relative amount of time different processes get. The number defines a single time "slice" -- that is, the (...) (27 years ago, 30-Jun-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
