Any kind you want, there are a myriad of available languages to use with it, whether its the out of the box lego, paint by number language ;) , or the down and dirty full C/C++ legos language, and many others in between, forth, python, java, to name (...) (...) The expansion sets are meant to work with the Robotics Invention System (RIS), and to a (much) lesser extent the Robotics Discovery System (RDS). (...) Have you actually tried this? I've taken both my RCX's (1.0 & 2.0) apart, but, while there is a 5V regulator for the MCU, I couldn't see any regulator for the motor outputs. (...) The day I got my RCX2.0, I took it apart and confirmed my suspicion that the motor drivers used in the 1.0 are similar to a Melexis MLX10204. A similar chip is used in the 1.0, but the Melexis chip is used in the 2.0. I then fired off an (...) (24 years ago, 22-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Hi Sebastian I think you're right in your analysis and TLG may silently have fixed the problem, because if you look at the Vision Command installation, you'll find that some of the SDK DLLs are newer in that release. The solar cell barely has the juice to drive the 5225 motor, and that's both under direct sunlight and under a 2 million candlepower spotlight at 6 inches. (...) Regarding the solar powered walker and the mars rover, both are cool looking robots! I find that solar panel particularly interesting. Yep, besides using the "normal" Light->LightSensor type of comms, the direct electric connection is possible too, by using NQC's Off() and Float() commands, you simulate the ON/OFF state of a TouchSensor. I built a simple solar-powered hexapod last weekend with some new parts I ordered from Pitsco. The walker is quite slow, using the LEGO solar cell to power a 5225 9V motor, which drives a worm gear coupled directly to a 24T gear. I've found the LEGO (...) (...) The Cybermaster is a pretty big unit. It's turquoise, and the same width & depth as an RCX, but about 2/3 longer.
