Re: Thanks to Lego and Lugnet for being there...

(...) Ha! Same here! Too bad your EX didn't tolerate those Lego bricks. My family hates those things, and whenever I'm sorting through bricks at two in the morning, my parents scream! (oh ,well. That's LEGO for you) :) Lego isn't a complete (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-02, to lugnet.people)

Re: opinions sought on selling a mass amount of Lego

I pretty much agree with what Jon said, which in a nutshell is: don't go. I can't blame you for worrying about your art suffering though, although there could be numerous factors affecting that. I haven't touched a pencil or a paintbrush since (...) (24 years ago, 14-Mar-02, to lugnet.people)

Todd Thuma Banned From T'R'U! (was: Thanks to Lego...)

(...) Oh, I believe it! Heck, I can even see it! (If Todd had told me this at BricksWest, I would have teased him mercilessly [see new title above 8?) ]...when I worked at T'R'U as a kid, we used to ban people from the store all the time) What was (...) (24 years ago, 14-Mar-02, to lugnet.people)

(...) lately. (...) Bob, Hang in there! I am glad you could find some comfort in the LUGNET Community and in the LEGO Brick. I too am 35 and am beginning to get more involved in the LEGO community. Never be ashamed of your age and LEGOS! Remember (...) (24 years ago, 14-Mar-02, to lugnet.people)

Re: opinions sought on selling a mass amount of Lego

heya Jon, (...) The problem is, I have tried, and I keep getting caught up in projects. There is some OCD in my family, and this might be mine popping up in the form of a friendly Brick :) (...) I don't really let the online goofiness upset me, its (...) (24 years ago, 14-Mar-02, to lugnet.people)

What are your other hobbies and passions?

Hi all, I'm not sure if this has come up in the past, (if so, can someone please direct me to that thread), but I wonder what kinds of non lego activities you guys get up to, and if you have found any comparisons or contrasts between other hobbies (...)   Thanks to Lego and Lugnet for being there...

I just wanted to let others know how much Lego and Lugnet have helped me lately. I just finished going through a divorce which then set off a weight loss program that has reached 87 pounds lost so far (still have a little ways to go but I'm almost (...)   Useful URL!

(...) Dunno, but I sent something. Just to feel like I'm giving *something* back. Thanks for the URL--I didn't know it was there! Now, if only I could find a job that paid more than $15K... ...and for the record, I'd ante up $25 a year, even living (...) (24 years ago, 14-Mar-02, to lugnet.people)

  Re: Lugnet's tailspin

(...) Hmmm...you've got a point there...I guess It's an issue of both of the topics above, one being 'how many members would remain', and the other being the 'membership price'. I don't think an annual fee would be bad. I could easily afford $25 a (...) (24 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.people)

  Re: Lugnet's tailspin

(...) I think many of us agree. So why aren't we paying? In my case, I just keep meaning to. I bet there's a lot of that. (...) It would. But $25 per year is something that _any_ North American teen who is well off enough to enjoy LEGO and computer (...) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.people)

  Re: Lugnet's tailspin

(...) I wonder what the subscription fee would be if we wanted to pay somebody to run this show FT? What would the "going rate" be if an individual from the USA was employed? I really doubt 1500*$25 ($37500) would be enough? Scott A =+= Have you (...) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.people)

  Re: Lugnet's tailspin

(...) Personally, I think that the notion that a major message board can remain friendly is naïve at best. A "message board" like LUGNET is the juxtaposition of people of many cultures, ages, interests, as well as different levels of experience with (...) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.people)

  Re: Lugnet's tailspin

You are right Chris a higher membership fee would probably help Lugnet in someway. And I would be more than happy to pay. The enjoyment i get from LUGNET is definately worth it.. (...) Funny, very funny. Isn't it against the TOS to throw in nasty comments. (...) Fine. Be as negative as you want. There's no need to add more negativity to Lugnet as it is.   LUGNET's Good Health was: [Re: Lugnet's tailspin]

note: I happened to pick this post of the thread to respond to, for no better reason than it just came up on my ticker. As for some people calling this 'a tailspin', well, even if I were to agree (which I don't), you'd better keep in mind that this (...)
