If you take a transparent rod and roll it around on some fine grit sandpaper for a minute or so, it will make any light you may show through the rod easier to see from the side of the rod. (...) Silk-screening is a process that will directly print a given design onto a given object (passing ink/dye/paint through a screen/number of screens). The approach I used was to apply SolvaSet(tm) (A Walthers product IIRC, or maybe Microscale) to get the decal to conform to the shape of the model (fitting over rivets and the like) and then after it dried and was in good shape, a coat (...) (...) As a former scale model fan, I know that there a quite a few products out there for durably securing a decal to your model.
