Tammy, Confusion con chair, tried to post here but the server isn't accepting
her yet, so she asked me to post this for her...
Hi everyone - Tammy here, ConChair of ConFusion. We'd love to have you at our
convention! ConFusion has between 800-1000 attendees (and we have an excellent
guest list this year so we're figuring to be at the high end of that). To
contrast, this year's Contraption had 300 attendees.
As for space - we currently have a 3300 sq foot room that we are using for our
art show. The art show really only needs ~2000 sq feet, so I have about 1000
sq. feet to offer. You don't have to use that entire space unless you want to,
of course. I certainly consider what you all are doing art, so I think it will
be a perfect match! Security is obviously a big concern for our artists as
well, so we have control over the locking of the room and one of our con staff
sleeps in the room at night to keep guard on the items.
Most convention members try to make it through the art show at least once
during the convention, so I think you'd get a lot of exposure as well as
providing something new to lure the people who might not go their otherwise - a
win-win situation. The art show runs from 8 pm to 10 pm on Friday and 10 am to
6 pm on Saturday. You can have several hours to set up on Friday and tear down
on Sunday.

There are more people, so there are more costumes, but it's by no means
universal. Costumes aren't required, and many people just take the opportunity
to wear things they usually wouldn't wear in public - ranging from renaissance
fest garb to leather bodices... We do traditionally have a masquerade ball on
Saturday night and we'd love to see Amy in a Xena costume!
I'm happy you're consider attending. I was blown away by what you displayed at
Contraption and look forward to seeing more!

| (...) I can definitely vouch for this one. ConFusion is always the biggest one, ConClave the smallest. Their guest list is really good--is this the year Pete Abrams (Sluggy Freelance) is coming? | People who might attend the confusion thing: Tony Chris Amy Scott Rick Jason +1? Trevor????? Lester? Larry? New members are welcome also. O.K. It looks like we all can share a room.
