Perhaps it would be wiser to pick a show/venue that is at least one or
two months ahead (Christmas show?) and then really do it up right?
That way, everyone could make plans to be there, prepare what would be
shown, etc. This current event is still feeling a little
inappropriate and rushed to me. There also seems to be little
interest in participating, now that it has been reduced to a
Mindstorms / Train theme. It's obvious that most group members are
not really behind this. I don't want to see Dean and a couple of
others get burned out trying to put on some little 2' x 4' display
that may be completely out of place. Dean and Alex already do so much
work for this club. I think our first event should be one where we
have maximum enthusiastic participation from VLC members, and lots of
time to prepare.
Having said all this, I'm willing to help in any way I can. Diane and
I are currently arranging a trip out of town that will happen either
that weekend or the one prior (7,8). That will be decided in a couple
of days.
I really don't have much Mindstorms knowledge, but could certainly
help with logistics (transport, setup, supervision, etc.) if we're
around.
