Greetings, all!
The next meeting will take place on Friday Oct. 13th. The theme will be,
appropriately enough, Pirates. And if people attending could attire
themselves similarly, it would be even more fun!
Dean is working on getting space at the upcoming event at McPherson Center
which I understand is the following weekend. We had some discussion at the
end of the last meeting (last night) regarding the type of public display we
wish to have. Some thoughts were:
° Depending upon the space available, it would be very nice to have a
mixture of various types of LEGO® (train, monorail, Castle, town, space
etcetera). Whatever we do add, should have a lot of "wow" value and be
extremely impressive.
° It would be far better to have quality over quantity.
Until Dean secures the space for us and we know exactly how much space we
have to work with, we should discuss who will bring what.
° Train: Dean will bring some track and his trains. Depending upon space,
some additional rolling stock would be nice.
° Town: I believe Kevin and David together have enough to cover this.
° Monorail: I believe Robin said that he had boxes of monorail track. And I
also believe that Kevin and David also have monorail track and some monorail
cars.
° Pirates: I believe Kevin, Robin and David all have some great Pirate sets.
° Castle: Brian Wong, it would be great to enlist your help in this area.
° Space: Claus, David -- it would be great to have your input in this area.
Perhaps we could also bring some Star Wars kits in as well.
° Technic: Dave, a contribution from your vast collection would be
wonderful.
° Belleville: I'm not sure if it's appropriate, but I was thinking of
bringing some of my Belleville stuff.
The sets that are brought do not have to necessarily be right from the
box -- they could be your own MOC's. Mark, your Optimus Prime would be very
cool as would be some of Claus' nanofig scale MOC's.
Could everyone please confirm, add their own thoughts, and bring up any
other issues related to this matter. We have approximately one month.
Let's make this first public event one that everyone will remember!
