That actually makes sense. (!) Though if you put a light brick directly opposite
your light sensor, you should definitely be able to distinguish between having
nothing there, and having something there. And when something is there, you
should be able to tell if it's black or white.
LIGHT--(= [space] }--LIGHT_SENSOR
Make sure that the light is shining directly into the light sensor. Use a chrome
headlight piece if you have one. Then your 'empty' reading will be just the
light. Fill that space with something, and the reading will definitely change.
Depending on what it changes to, you'll know that A) You have a brick now, and
B) which colour it is.
