Ohhhhhh was that a shot ????  (grin)

Well, maybe it was a shot. No, just kidding. Make sure youre robot works next
time, and wow me.

seriously.... I'm rebuilding the same type of robot from the ground up.
it will be faster better cheaper.  and it should only require 1 RCX.
why do you say that a proper bot would need 2?
Faster better cheaper like NASA's recent probe to Mars?? just kidding.
I guess I thought it would need two rcx's to control the mutiple pneumatic
switches you have. Or does the grab cylinder trigger the lift cylinder
automaticly? Is it like a pneumatic circuit? This would make sense, but how
does it let go of the tower once it has been lifted up? More info, please. By
the way, I am really intrigued with pneumatics, and just bought some recently,
and I am thinking af how to integrate them into robotics. Do you have any
really good switch designs? Most I have seen are either hideously complicated
and huge. I am looking for a cyclic design that would allow the switch to be
flipped back and forth while running the motor in only one direction. Keep on
building...

Rob

(By the way, I tried to get my friend who came with me to the last contest
into the whole lego mindstorms thing. Hes interested in robotics and is a real
computer geek, so I figure he would be perfect. Unfortunately, he doesn't want
to spend that much money because he is saving up for school next year. Oh
well, I tried to recruit another, but failed. I am thinking there has got to
be more Lego robotics people in our area, but they just remain hidden.)

(...) ummm close, faster, better cheaper to mars, but more the the one that made it, not the one that crashed. (...) yes it is a "circuit" its actually quite simple. I'll post lots of info if only you and others promise not to use the ideas in there (...) (24 years ago, 20-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Ohhhhhh was that a shot ???? (grin) what are you trying to say, that a remote controlled robot is not allowed? I'll have you know that I'm entering the exact same robot except maybe I'll add code this time. (grin) (...) seriously.... I'm (...) (24 years ago, 17-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
