Chris,

Funny you should bring this up.  We were just talking about doing this (A) at
BrickFest and (B) at our club (LafLRC).

It would be really cool if we could come up with a common set of rules, then we
could have events within our clubs, and a bigger event at BrickFest in August.

We had talked about a "dumb" (pretty much mechanical) event.

The two ideas we discussed for robot limits were:
A) few limits, 4 pounds, go big or go home
or
B) Motor limit of 2 to 4 standard Technic (gear-motors)

(both could be done at the same event, as classes)

I think it would be cool if we could come up with a common event for clubs to
do, and this has a very wide appeal for a number of reasons.

We're working on getting a large number of Mindstorms events at BrickFest this
year, to coincide with the release of the NXT Mindstorms kit.  So, it may almost
be worth your trip...  :)

What do you think?

Steve
