  The show is over...

...and I had a great time! It was a lot of fun showing the kids, young and old, the layout, and what you can do with a bit of brick and a bit of time. The monkey-hunting (especially given the location at the Toronto Zoo) was a big hit. I'd like to (...) (21 years ago, 7-Jul-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

[rtlToronto] RoadShow Toronto: This is how we rock it in the T-Dot...

Hey folks, I'm really tired, but here's some shots from Day 1 of RoadShow 2003 in Toronto (Stop 2, just after Dallas): (URL) are mostly people and setup shots. I'm sure by tomorrow Derek will have hundreds of photos of the actual layout. Full report (...) (21 years ago, 6-Jul-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.events)

Re: calling all entomologist (OT - re:bugs)

I took all my Lego out of storage today. Why? Bugs. Building outdoors, I have killed five paper wasp nests, made nice tunnel homes for dozens more wasps (apparently), squished a yellowjacket/giant bumblebee, and vacuumed up a centipede (slurp!) Nice (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jul-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) much restricted to yellow/brown/red/black color schemes. (...) Depends on the temperament of that specific wasp. Yellowjackets are typically mean through-and-through, hornets are typically ornery when you get too close to their nest, but many (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jul-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

Re: calling all entomologist (OT - re:bugs)

Rob, thanks for the try. As well as asking for help here, I sent out a few e-mails to entomologists who left their e-mail address on the web. to my pleasant surprise, one replied within a few hours to tell me that what I had seen was indeed a wasp. (...) From your description, I think its a tiger beetle. They come in metallic blue as well as metallic green flavours. (URL) are active during the day unlike other beetles. They are fast runners and fliers. Maybe I am way off. If so, who knows what (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jul-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

calling all entomologist (OT - re:bugs)

OK. once again I'm going off topic. - tough! I am not an entomologist, nor do I claim to be one. I have little interest in insects. BUT recently, these past few summers I would occasionally see this "thing" that while in flight would remind me of a (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jul-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Calum's cargo loading terminal can be seen here: (URL) mentioned that I wanted to copy the design and Calum said Okay.   Urgent request

Can someone please tell me the exact dimensions of one lego stud? Or, ideally, can someone please put a whole bunch of plates together, and measure how long 66 studs is? Why?   Re: Water Tank in 8454?

I'm a big fan of building sets using only box cover pictures. I can tell you for a fact that even the box-cover photos don't necessarily reflect exactly what you get inside. For example, I recently bought Hagrid's Hut, and the cover photo shows (...) (21 years ago, 3-Jul-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.technic)
