I have a new question-- Regarding the candle'bot, right from the rules-- Eligible:Public & AFOL Goal: The First Robot to find and extinguish a candle flame will be the winner of that round. Hi Steve, I still like the idea that if a bot lets goof the rope, its a loss. I am getting old, and I do not recall any robot in the old game letting go. The elders amongst you may recall that I have a slight... appreciation for the 948 go-cart. It was, after all, the very first Technic set I received as a kid (circa 1977) and it was the biggest set I got after The Big Melt (tm). Here's some pics of (...) Derek brought in a USB tower but Sunday was pretty busy so I let the monorails run off a regular train controller for the day. I'll probably get the layout LDCC'ed for the (...)   Externally Powered Monorail running on LDCC
 
Hello everyone! So I've been experimenting with the externally powered monorail... Then I remembered how much fun I had with Mark Riley's LDCC-- (URL) (vid from way back in '06) So one thing led to another, and here's the result-- (URL) (monorail (...) (...) Picked some up today and have been experimenting--as of now, the wire brushes are better--the bogey doesn't accomodeate the shoes nicely without some heavy mods... i'll keep playing. though! Please note, due to the fact that Whackolug is participating with the OBB at the Christmas Train Show at the international Centre in Toronto, the Whackolug dinner meeting has been cancelled. I did forget to mentinon ,though you can see it in the pics on Flickr, that the brushes for the power pickup almost make the monorail run in 1 direction only-just like the slot cars... if the monorail runs the other way, the brushes will get (...)
