Canadian folk,
I've tried to post these questions to Lugnet a couple times, but it seems Lugnet
has forgotten me. So, you get them directly...

I had two questions I tried to post, yesterday. Seems they didn't get through
LUGNET's filtering.
1) In the Tug of War, does a robot lose if it lets go of the rope? (I think
that was the case in the previous version of the event)
2) For Firefighting, are non-LEGO sensors allowed? The rules say no, but I
don't think there is a non-contact method of finding a candle with LEGO parts.
That would suggest that the best solution to the challenge would be a simple
fan.

The rules are up on the events page... http://brickfete.com/events
ROBOTS Tug of War and ROBOTS Fire Fighting
ROBOTS in disguise!!!! (or in Da'skies, if you are Chris)
....And it got me to thinking...
Can you EASILY build one bot that does both? Or is that just a waste of
effort?
Would it just be better to build two?
Frankly, Tug of War seems simple, apparently I just need to find myself some
STUPID STICKY TM tires... but Fire Fighting... well my concept might just be
toooo lame to even work... but my real question is, is there any "coolness"
factor to having the bot do both, or is that just seriously wasting my time?
Chris, Dave? Old Time rtlers? Lugnets robotic competitors of events past???
Anyone?
Bueller??

| Hi Steve, I still like the idea that if a bot lets goof the rope, its a loss. I am getting old, and I do not recall any robot in the old game letting go. In all the years of bot games, I do not recall too many robot that were deliberately sneaky. (...) (14 years ago, 20-Apr-11, to lugnet.org.ca.obb)
