Errrm, what?
Star Trek came first, but isn't really comparable to BG, since ST is so
capital ship based. I don't recall any BG episodes where cap ships duke it
out.
Star Wars was before BG, so if anything spawned anything else, BG was
spawned from SW. There was even a big lawsuit over it because it was so
similar to SW style.
From the few episodes I've seen, fighters in B5 don't move anything like the
ones in BG. I could be wrong regarding later episodes, since I never watched
a whole lot of B5.
Maybe you should study these shows a bit more carefully? ;^)

There are capital ship fights in BG and I am also positive that it came before SW (but that is irrelevant). What I am referring is about the style of (...) (23 years ago, 26-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

I was a hardcore Star Wars fan for a decades: I have seen the trilogy hundredths of times (literally) and own hundredths of dollars (...) (23 years ago, 25-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
