Well, I'd heard that it was highly political, and bore more than a few
similarities to Neon Genesis Evangelion. (Anything as good as Eva is bound
to be influential. ;)) The mecha ARE highly realistic... unlike Gundam and
Macross (and don't get me wrong, I love Gundams and Valks...) mecha as
portrayed in Gasaraki might actually work.
On a side note, the Gasaraki model kits (Raiden, Ishtar and the advanced
Raiden that I can't remember its actual name) are supposed to be some of the
best mecha kits out there, hands down. You have to paint them, unlike
Bandai's Gundam kits, but they bring new meaning to the word
"superdetailed". If there's anyone out there who'd care to spare an
unassembled kit or two, I'd be glad to take it off your hands. ;)

| Hey all, in my anime lacking frustration, I went to the movie rental shop and checked out their anime section, the only anime besides Gundam, escaflowne, and dragon ball(z) that I have heard of was patlabor (Mladen mentions it often) and appleseed (...)
