I live right near Washington, and they never block the streets for the
president... oh, wait; you're referring to Washington DC (the centre of
government) not Washington State. D'oh!! *grin*
But, yeah, whenever the President comes to Portland, OR (different ones have
come 6 times since I moved here in '89) they block off all the streets the
Pres is gonna take, and keep people away from his car. It's very obnoxious,
and you'd think that a public servant wouldn't warrant that kind of special
treatment.
