Really?? The system worked???
I know 26 families that would beg to differ

Dave: thousands of people die each year in auto accidents. We have traffic
laws, but sometimes they dont work. Often, in fact. Is the solution to ban
the automobile? The sad fact is that shit happens.
|
How regulated are automobiles? how insured? How licenced? And were now
comparing accidents to mass murder?? When was the last time a guy took out a
school full of kids with a car?? I havent seen that headline.
Shit happens and 26 people are murdered. Yeah, I would love that blase
attitude.

We are a BIG country, so the analogy breaks down, IMO. Further, there are
already a brazillion guns in this country already-- eliminating then would
be next to impossible. It would be Deja Prohibition all over again.
|
So because the cause, even though its just and best for your society, isnt
worth the undertaking because its too difficult? Wow, you Yanks have come
along way (backwards) since the 60s.
|
Its more of a pragmatic issue. Banging our proverbial heads against a wall
isnt going to change anything, so why even attempt it? There is a better
solution somewhere. As I mentioned before; I believe that technology will
solve this problem better than some rapid, knee-jerk, stopgap measure.
|
Tech? Id love to see chips implemented on guns that would only allow lawful
owners fire them (a la last bond movie). Let me know when that happens. Ill
be the first to sign up. Until such time, lets get these AR15s off the
street. Lets get these 30 round clips melted down into plowshares. THere is
absolutely NO justifiable need for any civilian to own one of these guns or to
have large clips of ammo. None.
|
|
Really? Trying to limit the carnage and death of your fellow citizens is
worse than doing nothing?
youre beter than that.
|
What I mean is that a solution that exacerbates the problem is worse than
doing nothing. For example, some want to repeal the 2nd Amendment. YOU might
think that it is a good idea, but it isnt. Really.
|
YOu and larry think that taking AR 15s away from the populace will exacerbate
the situation--wheres your study? wheres your proof? Reducing clip sizes
will cause *more* carnage--really?? Thats what will happen??? Other countries
have bans on these weapons--I dont see them havng large amounts of issues with
massacres. I dont see gun-related violence increasing due to the reduction of
guns.
Get out of your cocoon. You were in Canada a few months back--did it feel less
safe up here to you? Really? Did it?
