Really? I guess we might as well throw this book of lies away then...

=)

BTW, these are not mere descriptions -- you know, silly stuff like where a
whale swallows a man and delivers him to another country.  It is my
understanding that Joshua is a hero of Judeo-Christian faiths.  He is the
person who led the ancient Israelites in the taking of the Promised Land --
or did you not understand the context of these quotes?  This is the part of
the Old Testament where the Israelites are sick of wandering around in the
desert for 40 years and eating boiled insect larvae -- so, to improve their
lot they start kicking ass and taking no prisoners in the lands past the
Jordan.  It is also my understanding that many people believe these texts to
be something like the actual truth as concerns ancient history (I do not
myself make these errors, but to each their own). Further, it would be my
understanding that "The Book of the Conquest" is the foundational text in
claiming that the lands described belong to the people of Israel -- or
rather, their modern day descendants.

Can I take it as given that you disagree with Joshua's ethics concerning
conquest? Where does that place modern day Zionist claims to those lands in
your view? Would you argue that these lands were originally taken by murder
and/or terrorist acts?  Is there any other way to steal lands with a
resident population?

-- Hop-Frog (I am sorta kidding around here, folks -- the O SO
SELF-RIGHTEOUS could use a good poke in the ribs...we aren't the heroes we'd
like to think we are, y'know?)

"There is no need to sally forth, for it remains true that those things
which make us human are, curiously enough, always close at hand. Resolve,
then, that on this very ground, with small flags waving and tiny blasts of
tiny trumpets, we shall meet the enemy, and not only may he be ours, he may
be us."
